“From the Santa Helena palace, Rebolo portrayed scenes of the city. We also have the production of the urban landscape in his work. The surrounding area was pretty much registered: Clóvis Square, Sé Square, where Santa Helena building was located and which was later destroyed when the subway was built. The artist left record of a city that was beginning to grow and change, in a period of economic development for the city of São Paulo.”
