““In the 1940s, the modernist painter Francisco Rebolo decides to live in the preserved and far off neighborhood of Morumbi. He leaves Mooca, in the Brás area and moves to Morumbi, which was completely far off downtown. If we think about it, the city of São Paulo ended up in the Paulista area; Pinheiros area itself was completely uninhabited. It was a very bold decision for the time and it shows the artist's concern with environmental issues, such as ESG. Those are trendy terms, aren’t they? Perhaps he had this idea 80 years in advance – to preserve, to report, to discuss climate issues, to point out his concern in his work and production.”
