“Lincoln Kirstein, who worked with Rockefeller, came to Brazil in 1942. He went to Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo and bought works by Brazilian artists for the MoMA collection. At that time, the United States promoted the so-called 'good neighbor policy' and consequently, Brazilian artists together with other Latin Americans were included to the collection of this important American museum, as well as many exhibitions that were organized in that country.”
