“Praça da Sé, in the mid-1930s, was the heart of the city and had great relevance  economically and socially speaking, with many offices of liberal professionals. When Rebolo moved his office to room 231 of the Santa Helena Palace, he was searching for a pulsing space that would favor the contact with his clients in the activities as painter-decorator, thereby ensuring his subsistence. The artists who would form the Santa Helena group started getting together there. In 1935, Rebolo invites Mario Zanini to share the room with him. Bonadei, Pennacchi, Manoel Martins, Clóvis Graciano, Humberto Rosa, Volpi and Alfredo Rizzotti will join them afterwards. They had to rent a second room where the first work activities took place and art discussion was one of the most important ones.”
