Voices of the community

“I'm going to talk about the Abaiomi doll workshop. We take this workshop to some communities to teach women about recycling; in this case, it is about the reuse of fabrics, a material easy to be purchased. The women can buy these fabric flaps in some stores that work with fabrics, in some companies... so it ends up costing very little or nothing. It is also intended to generate income. When Abaiomi is made in a slightly smaller size, they can make key chains in order to sustain themselves. Even if they cannot generate income, they can work with the family, with their daughters, making new Abaiomis and strengthening their bonds, which is very important, not to mention the sustainability issue, so important for our days.”
