Community hands make urban art

In celebration of the Environment Day and the creation of the Ponte Baixa Recycling Cooperative, graffiti artists who were former residents of the area embraced the idea of carrying out an artistic intervention on the facade of the building and created a project turned to raising awareness and preserving the environment.

The Cooperative is part of the #New Pinheiros River Program, in partnership with the Secretary for Infrastructure and Environment of the State of São Paulo, and enabled to bring collectors and residents closer to issues such as trash recycling, selective collection, proper waste disposal and preservation of the environment.

Artistic intervention and environment preservation

The Recycling Cooperative brought collectors and residents together for recycling and environmental protection.

The community was invited to get to know the cooperative and learn more about the recycling processes and their importance to the community and the planet.

The artistic intervention is seen on the façade of the Ponte Baixa Recycling Cooperative a long way off, attracting the community to the place.

Graffiti artists Jan Porks and Gamão were responsible for the artistic project, carried out with the participation of Jardim Letícia’s residents.

The children were invited to use their hands and build the tree leaves painting. The artistic action brings them closer to environmental awareness in a fun way.
